Silvrbackers Past and Present
Silvrbackers past and present, greetings!
My name is Kermit. My wife, Inga, and I are the new owners of Silvrback. Thanks for giving me a moment to introduce ourselves and share this first newsletter with you.
We purchased Silvrback in August and aside from spending time learning our way around the site, we've made, and continue to make, a number of changes we hope will be viewed as positive by those of you who choose to write with us. I realize that a good many of you receiving this newsletter are not currently blogging with us. That's fine.
We do believe that we're a better platform today than we were yesterday, and we intentionally will be better tomorrow than we are today. We want you to know that and keep that in mind when you consider your writing options going forward.
Permit me to give you a small glimpse into who you are dealing with at Silvrback these days. Silvrback is a bit of a family affair. I'm the guy you'll likely deal with day-to-day. Inga is my moral support. My daughter, Lena, runs point on social media and the marketing side. This newsletter is one of her projects.
I'm an academic by profession, though some would say not a very good one. Specifically, I am a business professor and have been for over 20 years. While I do like ideas and their development, in the end, I'm quite practical and crave independence. More than a bit entrepreneurial, I suppose.
Further, I do like writing and thus, Silvrback is more than a casual amusement for me. It is a project I am excited about.
To that end, the newsletter is to showcase what is happening on Silvrback. That includes highlighting one or two of our writers, as well as letting you know what things we've been up to in terms of features, fixes and chasing our ambitions for Silvrback. Ultimately, our hope is that you, our writers, present and past, will value your experience with us.
Enough of that for now.
Before you go, do look at what new features and improvements we've made to the Silvrback experience since August. If you're a current writer, you will already notice some of these, but perhaps not all. Check out the New Features and Upgrades article in this newsletter - hope you'll be pleased.
Also, take a moment to check out my ramblings about what we aspire to accomplish between now and the end of 2016. Okay, take a second to read the whole cotton-pickin' newsletter.... I don't know where to stop!
One L A S T thought. If you haven't been writing in recent weeks or months, the new year is the time to rethink the reasons why... or better, the reasons why not? Most of us originally signed up to a blog site to write, because we felt like we had somethings to say.
We invite you to say it on Silvrback.
Best wishes for 2016!
